John Denver was a superstar artist who was a hit by his popular-folk hits Many of them were located in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a Mexican-born artist and songwriter who fell in love with Colorado. Denver's state anthems are a source of inspiration for many to visit Colorado. G. Brown the curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared the following: John Denver was by far one of the most popular artists who represented Colorado. Denver is the Hall of Fame's inaugural inductee was recognized with the award in the year 2011. Many consider Denver to be the symbol of Colorado. Certainly in my travels you meet someone from the other side of the world or someone who is from New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the very first thing that comes they say is Oh John Denver! Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist following his time with small folk groups. The song was written in collaboration with Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the tune inspired by Johnny Cash, but Denver discovered an early version of the song and realized the song would be one of the Top 10 hits. He recorded it just a few days following having performed at Washington D.C. before an large crowd who were very appreciative.
